The Canton newspaper, "Tai Kwong Pao", welcomed the lifting of ban on the export of Textiles from Hong Kong, in view of the "terrible shortages of such goods" in Siam and Singapore.

A gloomy view of the new Chinese budget was taken by the "Hwa

Shiang Pao".

The "Sing Tao Jih Pao" said that the dumping of American goods

in China was equally detrimental to China and America.

The "Hwa Shiang Pao" reported that the Chinese people were out- raged by American atrocities, and threats were made to turn the American out by force.
